Shakib will join Bangldesh team on tomorrows Nidahas Squad. Shakib received the finger injuries during the final match of another tri-nation series against Sri Lanka in Dhaka on 27 January.
AS Shakib is released from his finger injury he is going to join the team toady afternoon. All-rounder Shakib Al Hasan has been added to the Bangladesh squad for the Nidahas Trophy Tri-Nation T20I competition after recovering from an injury to his left little finger, informed Bangladesh Cricket Board through a press release on Thursday noon.
Shakib is now the skipper for T20 and Test versions, may take over from Mahmudullah who is stand-in captain in the former’s absence.
If the things remain unchangeable, Shakib might play the virtual semi-final match against the islanders on 16 March, according to the officials of the Bangladesh team.
Bangladesh Cricket Board said the world’s number one all-rounder is scheduled to fly to Sri Lankan capital Colombo to join his the squad sometime on Thursday.
The match could be the last match of the tri-nation series of T20 internationals for the Tigers if they lose Sri Lanka.
Bangladesh have played three T20Is in the Nidahas trophy so far and won one among them. Bangladesh will face hosts Sri Lanka on Friday and the winner of this match will face India on Final.
