For the first time Bangladesh is in 8th Position in ICC Test rankings. Bangladesh have emerged as the number eight in the recent International Cricket Council (ICC) Test rankings.

Bangladesh have jumped one place to eighth, their best ever, in the latest Test rankings published on Tuesday, tigers’ points are 1 thousand 202.

Playing 16 matches Bangladesh’s rating is 75. With this rating Bangladesh have emerged as the number eight in the rankings.

West Indies who were at number eight in the earlier rankings lost five points and are at number nine in the current rankings. The Caribbean have 1 thousand 484 points and the current rating is 67. Thus Bangladesh have gained the number eight position.

Meanwhile India is still on top of ICC Test rankings. With 3 thousand 499 points playing 28 matches the rating of Virat Kohli’s team is 125.

The records since the start of 2015 have not been too different, with Bangladesh winning three of their 18 Tests and losing 10, while the Windies have won five and lost 18 of their 28 Tests.

India continued to sit atop followed by South Africa at two and Australia at three.

Australia have gained four points to get to 106, pushing New Zealand down from three to four, even though New Zealand earned themselves $200,000 for being in third place at the last cut-off date on 3 April.

India and South Africa, meanwhile, got $1 million and $500,000 respectively, said the ICC article.

Australia, New Zealand and England are at third, fourth and fifth place respectively. Sri Lanka are at sixth and Pakistan are placed at seventh position. Zimbabwe are at number ten.

Afghanistan and Ireland will have joined the existing 10 teams to make a it a 12-team table in Next Update.
