Five people were killed in a train derailed in Tongi. Five people were killed when a train derailed in Tongi’s notunbazar area. At least 20 people were injured in the incident.
The accident happened around 12:30 pm on Sunday. Tongi outpost SI Delwar confirmed this to the media.
Gazipur Fire Service deputy director. Akhtaruzzaman told us that 5 people were killed on the spot when five bogies of Dhaka Commuter train derailed coming from Jamalpur.
Local people rescued them and took to the nearby hospital.
Meanwhile, train movement in North Bengal with Dhaka was stopped.
