BGB deployed across Bangladesh for 11th general election.
Members of paramilitary force Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) have been deployed across Bangladesh to maintain law and order ahead of the 11th general election.
Total of 1,016 platoons of BGB were deployed across the country on Tuesday as per the direction of Election Commission (EC) ahead of the 11th general elections slated for December 30.
BGB Public relations officer Muhammd Mohsin Reza confirmed the media about the deployment of BGB troopers across the country.
However, EC is taking three-tire security measures comprising Police, RAB and other law enforcement agency to control untoward situation during the polls.
As part of this army will perform duty as striking force from December 24 to January 1.
According to the worksheet of the EC, army and air force will have been outside of the polling centres while RAB, BGB and armed police battalion in patrolling as mobile and striking force.
The 11th general election is set to be held on December 30.
