2 million doses of India’s gift vaccine is coming on Thursday
2 million Corona vaccine is coming on Thursday. The vaccine will arrive in Bangladesh from India next Thursday. Indian diplomatic sources said this on Tuesday. The 2 million doses of coronavirus vaccine that India is sending as a gift will arrive in Bangladesh next Thursday.
Meanwhile, Health Minister Zahid Malek told reporters at the Health Department this afternoon that the vaccine would arrive in Bangladesh from India as per the flight schedule. It could be tomorrow, it could be the next day. The flight schedule is not yet known.
He told reporters at the health department on Tuesday afternoon that the vaccines would be stored in the cold storage at the health department’s CMSD, EPI, and Tejgaon Health Complex.
2 million Corona vaccine is coming on Thursday
The health minister said vaccinations would not be given at the union level at the beginning. Vaccination will be given at Upazila and district level. The first vaccination will start in Dhaka.
Bangladesh is officially buying 30 million doses of the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine produced at the Serum Institute of India. The first batch of 5 million doses of vaccine is expected to reach the country by January 25.
Apart from this, the 2 million doses of vaccine that India is sending as a gift is also the Oxford vaccine produced at the Serum Institute. India is giving this vaccine as a goodwill gesture to the neighboring country in case of epidemic crisis.
Khurshid Alam said that after receiving the first consignment of 30 million dose vaccines purchased by the government, there are plans to start vaccination activities in all the districts together.
Initially, health workers will be monitored with some vaccines. We will start in all districts after one week. That is our plan. If all goes well, the Department of Health is preparing to vaccinate against coronavirus in the field from the first week of February. That is why online registration will start from January 26.
The director-general of the health department said a meeting chaired by the chief secretary to the prime minister would be held on Tuesday to work out a detailed plan for vaccination, where all would be finalized.
The first person to be infected with corona was identified in the country on March 6 last year. Till yesterday, 5 lakh 26 thousand 329 people have been infected with the coronavirus. A total of 6,922 people died. 4 lakh 63 thousand 173 people have been infected with corona.
